Antique ebonised bentwood two seater window seat by Fischel, Austria. A very decorative example with an unusual form. I expect the upholstery to be a later addition but still early 20th century as the chair is visibly caned from the underside which appears to be original and intact. Areas of wear to the fabric as pictured, 1 patch to the left hand side of the seat and thinning around the back edge.
Please expect some age related splits to the wood around the tighter bends like the arms for example, these do not compromise stability. Please also note signs of historic woodworm to some areas, all of which have been thoroughly treated as a standard precaution.
A unique, charming piece of period seating.
